Freedom of expression begins by allowing individuals to express their own ideas without coercion of others, but the fact of someone having the freedom to express oneself does not mean that the others have to watch what he says. Personally I try to apply this reasoning every day. If I enjoy the freedom of expression, it is fair that others share this prerogative, and that does not mean that I have to watch what they say. I have the right of not to know and not to care. We should not take what is said, written or done with a mind of an extremist. That is the root of tolerance. What offends is our inability to defend what we believe. If we do not respect ourselves, why should others do?
